New Dnepr Exhaust

Newly installed fishtail exhaust system from FastBoys in the UK. The bike (Dnepr MT-11) sounds great now somewhat like an angry Volkswagen Beetle.
Riding a Dnepr MT-11

I just recently got this MT-11 running after it had sat for many years. The carbs need more work and much better balancing, but at least it's running.

MT-11 Dnepr running!!!
This is a Dnepr MT-11 I bought from a friend. It had a ton of little issues, including some wiring problems, carb issues, oil leaks, etc. I finally have it running somewhat properly, which is a huge success in my books. Very stoked!

Still got it? What were your reviews of this Ukrainian made motorcycle? Any good? Just cable brakes bit scary I had my Dnepr MT9 to 70mph on those carburettor, it was scary but fun
Impressive how this modern motorcycle still sounds like it's old brother, the K 750.. I suspected it would sound like a modern day touring motorcycle
Where is this road? Do you know the street or cross street?
I'm pretty sure that is Prairie Trail: 41.430624, -93.959176 Other good ones out that way are 225th Trail: 41.335970, -93.925318 and Quail Ridge Ave: 41.285376, -93.916692
Cool bike, how is the reliability?
Dneprs are basically like tractors. They are overbuilt and overall pretty simple machines. Mine still has a few oil leaks, but nothing serious. I struggled with mine for a long time until I figured out the coil was bad. Now mine has Ukraine Weber carbs, new jugs, and an oil-filled coil that normally is aftermarket for a Harley. Runs great. My dog loves it.
over the years I have had two MT-11s and a Ural, tricked one Denpr with all the wartime stuff and a dummy DP28 on a mount, enjoyed riding them and have one left that I just cant let go yet
Pls how much Is It?? Pls
in russia you can buy one like this from $1,000 in average condition, possibly without documents, up to $2,000 with documents and minor defects, of course, you can even find one in good condition with documents for $900, but it's very difficult. Also, if you are from the USA, you will have to pay for its transportation, customs clearance, and other fuss with documents.
Dnepr is like a tractor of motorcycles

dnepr in usa, amm... ok. Now i see more)
nice ride! the blue light tells your headlight is high beam.
Came a long way from Ukraine 😁
maybe it's either from Germany, maybe from Russia or Belarus, but it's more likely that in Soviet times it was exported to Europe, and from there it got to the United States.

This motorcycle keeps memories about my grandfather. He never had a car but he owned 3 such dneprs at the same time.

Nice what is the Australian Brand?
The bashplate and fairing were made by Rally Raid Engineering. I've heard they are out of business.
Hate to bother you but what year is this bike ? I got one in a trade and have been trying to figure out what year it is and this one looks just like mine … thanks Sam
No worries. All KMZ manufacturer records have been lost, and I know of no source that makes sense to the numbers on the engine or frame. At SovietSteeds.com, it was suggested that you pull off something like the rear taillight and look for a date stamp. Mine had a light made in 1995, so I think the bike was finished at the factory around that time. More pix: www.flickr.com/photos/43899092@N00/albums/72157712197580952
Hey, currently fixing a mt11. Did the R71 fuel tank slip right on, or did you have to do any modifications to make it fit the bike
All I had to do on mine was put nylon spacers in the rear mounts to make sure the crossover line cleared the air cleaner box.
@@jbradleyhorn by the way, where did you get your fuel tank? Was it a original bmw tank, or was it reproduced
@@thandren7437 I found a builder in India on eBay and bought from them. If you go that route, plan on really checking out the tank for leaks and other such stuff. I have seen a US builder on eBay who builds a super clean replica in stainless. Quite spendy though.
@@jbradleyhorn yeah, i have seen those on Ebay, but I have been unsure if i can trust them
Yes. It always is. :) My understanding is that this version of the Dnepr had this flaw. However, the oil pressure is good. I've now done away with this headlight and warning light setup: www.flickr.com/photos/43899092@N00/albums/72157712197580952
I've had 2 Triumphs,I'm not scared. I want one,but maybe a flat head M72.
Hell yeah. Is that original OD flat green?
Yes. It looks a little different now. flic.kr/p/2j3M86F

Three slow kick starts when ignition off and then ignition on. That works well with my K-750M.

Hi mate, noticed on one of your other videos you wanted to replicate an R71? You'll have to get an old 750cc Flathead engine to complete the look ))
He's so cute. What is he looking for?
The Szechuan Province.
Yes, I know. It had a broken valve adjuster. The bike runs much better now.
Do you regret anything ? Is the Enduro R better?
It's the one motorcycle that I've tried to buy back from the new owner. He's not selling. :) However, the 690 is much better for what I do. It has the same power to weight ratio as the 950 Adventure, so it is fun to ride . . . and much easier to pick up. :) That said, I miss the rumble of that 75° 950 motor. I don't miss working on the carbs on a regular basis, but I do miss the grin factor of it all.
Hey Brad, did you have to make any changes, or did it fit right on? Thanks
Tomas Gilbert It bolted up. I put a small spacer on the rear mount just to make sure the crossover line cleared the air cleaner.
What year model is? I have one but the front suspension is diferent
Probably you have a Ural..
Probably it’s from the 70s
the fuzzed tone isnt good;with a multieffect lile the gt100 from Boss this amp is a little monster!

Isnt the idle a bit too high?
My friend from Estonia told me that his father had the Dnieper and he hated it. He couldn't go anywhere without his hands covered in oil or grease.
You need a windshield for the sidecar.
Beautiful motorcycle
Oil pressure?? :)
No. Broken valve adjuster.
i thougt you have too low oil pressure, because of the red light under your speedo
Mario Lazaratos No. That is the alternator light. It stays on. Typical for this bike.
@@jbradleyhorn There are wiring diagrams that have false notations on the alternator pins. Once you remove the alternator endcap and the fan, you see which pin is the excitation, which is the charge and which goes to the charge light.
I really like the green primer!
Been thinking about getting one myself. How's your experience been? MPG? Break downs? etc.
I’ve just gotten it going, so too soon to say on MPG and reliability. The bike is super basic with points, condenser, coil, carbs, drum brakes, etc. Parts are plentiful on eBay if you don’t mind the wait for things to reach you from Kiev. My only break down to date was a broken valve adjuster, which I think related directly to the missing intake valve cap on that cylinder. As far as fun factor, it gets looks EVERYWHERE it goes, so lots of fun. It’s definitely not fast, but tons of fun.
@@jbradleyhorn what kind of speed can this comfortable cruise at without over working the engine
Had one the duel carbs are trash and always leak gas it was cool when it ran but that was almost never and if you can work on a vintage duel carb motor forget finding someone that can. Happiest days were Day I bought it and day I sold it.
Lets just put it like this, dont buy one if you can not hold a spanner and use it.
Where did you get that speedometer?
It’s the stock speedo on a Dnepr.
@@jbradleyhorn : Brad, it is not original equipment. The original Dnepr speedo is very different.
TroyaE117, it’s hard to say. My bike was assembled in Colorado in 2012. We believe it was a “Yuri” bike - a bike made up of old parts that was sold on eBay as a kit. The speedo is an 85mm, just like the Ural one. In fact, I bought a Ural KPH/MPH speedo to replace this one with. Thereafter, I also bought a K750 headlight bucket and speedo, which has the 80mm speedo in it. Because my current speedos don’t fit, both will go back up for sale on eBay in the end. My plan for this bike is to bring it as close to the look of the original BMW R71 as I can, including an R71 replica tank, K750 headlight, and low front fender from a CJ750 along with a front fender license plate matching Steve McQueen’s plate number in The Great Escape. :).
This is newer dnepr, and newer dneprs had these speedometers. Older ones were different.
@@arnasleseta2890 : Amas : that Dnepr is a hybrid. It is assembled from a parts bin. It is not an MT11.
Get those valves adjusted man, before they grind themselves to dust.
Nordic Oppozit, I actually had a broken valve adjuster that I discovered after this ride. ;)
